Who We Are

1–2 minutes

The Velvet Court Society was started with a group of like minded individuals wanting to be more connect to the inner workings of our sport. This includes volunteerism, certified instruction, officials and governance. We wanted to gain access to the offerings from USDF and qualified instruction, not just for amateurs but for professionals as well.

As individuals, we have experienced and participated in the National Standards and realize together, we can help to grow the sport in our area. We are are trying to do things a little differently than the current GMO framework. We are a bit smaller and strive to be more active. We are looking to get out and about but not just in our own communities. We will branch out and participate with other GMO’s to enrich our experiences, collaborate with leaders in our sport and learn. To make ourselves and our horses better.

Safety and horse welfare are paramount. We look to help our members research and find the resources needed for their individual goals. Eduacated riders make safer riders.

If you want to follow along, great! You can support this group by following this website, our Facebook page, and our Instagram.

Will you be including educational seminars, clinics, recognized shows for people riding Western Dressage? We have a small social group of 15 people in Western PA looking for some things to do. I was a founder of Pennsylvania Western Dressage Association. They do not offer much in Western Pa. Mostly virtual, central, east. There are GMOs in Ohio that also offer WD and like MODA and NODA. We travel to their shows and clinics. Would be nice to have involvement locally. – Pamela Santucci
